Step 1: Identify the decision to be made.

As you identify the decision, ask yourself a few questions:

 

– What is the problem that needs to be solved?

– What is the goal that you intend to achieve by implementing this decision?

– How can success be evaluated?

These questions are all common goal-setting techniques that will ultimately help you find possible solutions. When the problem is clearly defined, you will have more information to make the best decision to solve the problem.

When the final decision maker gives the green light, it’s time to put the solution into action. Take the time to create an action plan. Then it’s time to put your plan into action and monitor progress to determine if it was a good decision.
